11.10 Sample Analysis
For the Maya and Aya drilling, the Company contracted Afrilab analytical laboratory in Marrakech to conduct the chemical analysis. No documentation describing the analytical laboratories, analytical methods, digestion techniques, analytical finish, detection limits or quality control procedures used during the historical BRPM drilling programs was available for review by SRK.
The analytical certificates reviewed by SRK indicate that Afrilab is an ISO 9001-certified laboratory and holds Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) accreditation.
Au was analyzed by 50 g fire assay with an atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) finish (Afrilab method MO/ANA/001). Ag, Cu, Fe, Pb and Zn were analyzed following aqua regia digestion (Afrilab method MO/ANA/002) with an ICP-OES finish. Samples returning Cu, Fe, Pb or Zn grades greater than 1% were routinely re-analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) to provide accurate assays at higher concentrations. Ag was initially analyzed by ICP-OES; however, since 2022 samples returning Ag grades greater than or equal to 200 g/t were routinely re-analyzed by 50 g fire assay with a gravimetric finish to provide accurate assays for high-grade mineralization. Aya confirmed that the fire assay gravimetric method has an upper analytical limit of 100% Ag (pure silver) and 100 g/t for Au and lower detection limit of 0.05 g/t for Au.
Additional trace elements, including As, Mo, Sn and S were analyzed following aqua regia digestion with ICP analysis, though the amount of assay associated with these is variable. For instance only 92 S% assay are contained within the database compared to 163,822 As values and 329,370 Mo values. The analytical methods provided lower detection limits of 1 g/t Ag, 0.01% Cu, Fe, Pb and Zn. While the routine ICP-OES method has an upper analytical limit of 1% for Cu, Pb and Zn, above which samples are routinely re-analyzed by AAS (no upper detection limit provided by Aya).
AYA GOLD & SILVER INC., BOUMADINE POLYMETALLIC PROJECT 71
Upon review of the Afrilab analytical certificates, SRK noted that base metal analyses have been undertaken using an aqua regia digestion method since 2017, rather than the four-acid digestion method previously reported in Boumadine technical reports.
In addition, an independent umpire laboratories has been used, during the 2022 to 2024 drilling campaigns. Umpire analyses were completed by ALS Seville, Spain, while from late 2024 onwards this work transitioned to ALS Morocco (Zgounder) following commissioning of this laboratory. In addition, independent verification samples were submitted to Actlabs (Ancaster, Canada) by P&E during its 2024 due diligence program as part of an external verification exercise.
