16.1.3 Minimum Mining Width
Minimum operating widths were established to guide pushback design, ensuring that engineered pits can be mined safely and efficiently with the selected mining fleet at the pit bottom. Table 16-2 summarizes these requirements: a minimum mining width of 120 ft at the ultimate pit bottom and a minimum operating width of 232 ft for internal mining phases (equivalent to two full double-lane road widths for 794AC trucks) to ensure optimum productivity.
