16 MINING METHODS
The Copper World project will be developed as a high-productivity, conventional open-pit shovel and truck operation, scheduled to run 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. To enhance safety, consistency, and operating cost performance, the project incorporates a modern autonomous haulage system. The mining sequence in the Base Case assumes that, at the time of operation, the pits will require only state and local permits, with all waste, tailings, and facilities safely contained within the boundaries of Hudbay's private land (Figure 16-1).
