Figure 17‑2 Process Flow Schematic
| 17.2 | OPERATING SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY |
The processing plant is planned to operate 24 hours per day at a nominal throughput rate of 15,000 tpd and overall circuit availability of 92%.
| 17.3 | PROCESSING DESCRIPTION |
| 17.3.1 | PRIMARY CRUSHING AND COARSE STOCKPILE |
A conventional crushing facility will be designed to crush run of mine (“ROM”) material to reduce incoming open pit feed material to an appropriate Semi-Autogenous Mill (“SAG”) mill feed size. Haul trucks from the open pits will deposit ROM material into the gyratory crusher feed hopper. Gyratory crusher product will be conveyed to a cone crusher for secondary size reduction. ROM rock will be crushed to a nominal 38 mm 80% passing size and discharged onto the crushed material stockpile.

| 17.3.2 | GRINDING CIRCUIT |
The grinding circuit will reduce the crushed material to 80% passing 130 µm. The proposed grinding circuit will consist of a 9.8 m diameter x 3 m long 5.0 MW SAG mill operating in open circuit followed by a 5.8 m diameter × 12.0 m long 8.0 MW ball mill operating in closed circuit with hydrocyclones.
The SAG mill will be fed at a controlled rate from the crushed material stockpile. SAG mill product will discharge to a vibrating screen from where the oversize product will be conveyed to one of two pebble crushers operating in parallel. Pebble crusher product will return to the SAG mill. SAG mill discharge screen undersize material will report to the cyclone feed pump sump where dilution water will be added to optimize cyclone feed slurry density. The diluted slurry will be pumped to the cyclone cluster.
Cyclone underflow slurry will flow by gravity to the ball mill feed chute. Ball mill product will discharge to the cyclone feed pump sump and, along with SAG mill discharge, be pumped to the cyclone cluster. Cyclone overflow slurry, with a density of approximately 35% solids by weight, will flow by gravity to the first rougher flotation conditioning tank.
Lime will be added as required to the cyclone feed pump sump to adjust flotation circuit feed slurry pH. SAG and ball mill grinding media additions based on power factor set points will be required to maintain grind circuit efficiency. Power factor set points will be periodically adjusted to compensate for liner wear. A detailed crushing and grinding process flowsheet is shown in Figure 17‑3.
