APPENDIX “A” - Definitions of Certain Terms

For convenience, certain terms used throughout this AIF shall have the following meanings:

“adjusted net income” has the meaning ascribed to it in the“Non-GAAP Financial Measures and Ratios” section of the MD&A, which is incorporated herein by reference, a copy of which is available electronically under Emera’s profile on SEDAR+ atwww.sedarplus.ca and on EDGAR atwww.sec.gov;

“AFUDC” means allowance for funds used during construction and represents the cost of financing regulated construction projects and is capitalized to the cost of property, plant and equipment, where permitted by the regulator;
